Clinical Research
While our translational researchers
work to develop new hope for tomorrow,
Mills Breast Cancer Institute
also offers patients access to
the latest therapies today. We
are currently participating in
a number of national pharmaceutical
and related trials that are open
to eligible patients.
Clinical trials have tremendous
benefits for patients. Each are
assigned a research associate
to monitor them through the process.
This extra layer of support offers
reassurance to patients and ensures
the trial investigators administer
a very high standard of care.
Clinical trials also provide patients
the opportunity to obtain treatment
they might not otherwise be able
to afford.
Examples of current clinical
studies include:
Pharmaceutical
Trials
- Avastin for locally recurrent/metastic
breast cancer
- Femara for first-line therapy
in post-menopausal women with
metastatic breast cancer relapse
following tamoxifin therapy
- Exemestane in postmenopausal
women who are at increased risk
for developing breast cancer
- Dosing regimens for Capecitabine
in combination with intravenous
Docetaxel in patients with locally
advanced or metastatic breast
cancer
- Dosing regimens for Fulvestrant
in postmenopausal women with
estrogen receptor positive advanced
breast cancer progressing or
relapsing after previous endocrine
