Comprehensive Support Services

At Mills Breast Cancer Institute, our team not only treats your cancer, but works to meet your social, emotional, spiritual and physical needs. You’ll discover comprehensive support services including:

Social Services – Licensed oncology social workers provide emotional and psychosocial support for patients and their families. They connect patients with the community resources, financial assistance and medical services that they need during treatment.

Nutrition Counseling – A registered dietitian provides dietary information and recommendations to counter the side effects of chemotherapy and strengthen patients throughout treatment.

Nurse Navigator Service – An oncology-certified registered nurse helps patients manage anxiety by guiding them through the treatment process and answering questions about test results, side effects of chemotherapy, clinical trials and other medical concerns. The nurse navigator also offers education and awareness to the community.

Genetic Counseling – A certified genetic counselor helps those with a family history of breast cancer assess their risks and assist in making decisions regarding screenings and preventive treatments or surgeries.

Support Groups - Provide patients with cancer, survivors and caregivers with a group setting to help address the emotional aspects of cancer and its treatment. Learn more about the support groups that are currently available.
